The pattern is engraved on Finnish birch plywood and then laser cut. The engravings are only on one side. That's why we don't recommend this design with hooks. With studs and hoops the earring won't dangle around to show the "empty" side of the earring.
The metal parts (the fittings, studs, hoops and the stoppers) are stainless steel - they are not coated. Stainless steel does not cause nickel sensitivity or allergy.
